The brick façade on the three sides of this 270-foot-high chimney needed to be completely removed and replaced.
York Scaffold Equipment Corp. used a modular suspended scaffold to access all three sides. In order for the suspended scaffold to reach that portion of the chimney which rose above the roof level, the supporting structure, which was constructed of system scaffolding, had to be 30’ high. The large size of the chimney itself required that the reach of the supporting beams had to be 15′.
